Purpose of the Dog

A Sunday school helper was delivering a station wagon full of kids home oneday when a fire truck zoomed past.Sitting in the front seat of the fire truck was a Dalmatian dog.The children began discussing the dog's duties. "They use him tokeep crowds back," said one youngster. "No," said another, "he's just for goodluck." The third child brought the argument to a close. "They use the dogs," she said firmly, "to find the fire hydrant."

狗的用处

一天，一位主日学校的助理载着一车的小孩回家，一辆消防车呼啸而过。坐在消防车前排的是一只斑点狗。孩子们开始七嘴八舌地讨论那条狗坐在那儿是干什么的。一个小孩说:“他们让它阻止人群靠的太近。”另一个小孩说:“不是的。它就是带来好运的吉祥物。”第三个小孩终于说对了，她肯定地说:“狗是他们用来找消防栓的。”
