2020年3月23日，上海宏润博源学校CAS时间开启了为期两周的职业探索主题活动。同时，P&B跟进班级指导。“自我探索”及“职业探索”活动，是以学生兴趣爱好、性格特征、擅长学科与未来职业生涯发展观相结合，以期合理规划高中生涯。

周一下午，预备级、十级和十一级分成三个组，同时开设主题宣讲。

Foreword: At the CAS session on March 23rd, we launched two-week-long activities themed career exploration. Meanwhile, homeroom teachers provided further instructions at P&B sessions. The series of activities for this week named "self-exploration" and next week named "career exploration" activities aim to combine students' interests, hobbies, individuality, academic specialty with future career development so as to help students better plan for their high school years. On Monday afternoon, all students were divided into 3 groups, namely Pre Grade, Grade 10 and Grade 11 and they attended keynote lectures at the same time.

【九年级会议室】

该会议室主讲人是：学校2013届毕业生，在澳洲留学的薛原同学，以及本校优秀十二级学生普周琦、李筱璇同学。

薛原同学深有体会告诉同学，每个人有自己的成长节奏，重要的是要有进步;

普周琦同学将自己标化考试的经验告诉学妹学弟，将TOEFL、SAT和AP学习科目计划、时间分布，考场经验，像标注说明书那样清晰展示给同学，同学们很受益;李筱璇同学特别关照同学们多多参加各类课外活动，以及用好夏校，发现自己的爱好和长项。

The lecturers for this room were our 2013 graduate Xue Yuan, who is studying overseas in Australia at the moment, and two of our outstanding 12th graders Jerry Pu and Katherine Li.

Based on his deep understanding, Xue Yuan told those at the meeting that everyone grows up at his or her own pace and what is important is that they must make sure to make progress.

Jerry shared his experience in taking standardized exams, presenting his plans for, timeline of and experience in taking the TOEFL,SAT and AP tests as clearly as what is shown on instruction manuals. Pre-grade students found they benefited a lot from Jerry’s sharing. Katherine Li encouraged Pre-graders to take active part in various extracurricular activities, and make good use of the summer school to find their own hobbies and strengths.

疫情下的职业探索指导，是了解自己，更要了解世界正在发生的变化，面对未知;

有所能、有所不能，不是畏惧前行，是强化所能，弥补不能，强大自己!

In the current epidemic situation, we hold career exploration sessions in an effort to understand the changing world, to face the unknown as well as to better understand ourselves. Knowing what we can do and what we can’t will help us keep going forward fearlessly. Strengthening what we can do and making up for what we can’t will make ourselves stronger.

【十年级会议室】

要增长硬实力。林楚漫老师对十年级同学说，擅长的科目要保持高成绩，各科均衡发展不偏科;不擅长的科目也要守住一定的分数线;要给托福定一个目标分数，托福能否达到90分，决定了是否有足够的英语能力。

We must make ourselves more competitive. Miss Chuman Lin told 10th graders to keep doing well in the subjects they are good at, to hold on to a certain level for the subjects they are not good at, to balance their efforts put to different subjects and to avoid going overboard on one or some subjects.She also reminded them to set a goal for their TOEFL test because their English language competence is very important and they should score at least 90 in the TOEFL test.

其次，在硬实力到位的情况下，我们该做什么才能让招生官眼前一亮?

大学想看到的是我们高中四年的成长。楚漫老师鼓励我们找到自己的兴趣爱好，发掘自己的潜能，去做想做的事情。

Besides, when they are competitive enough in academic performance, what should they do to catch the eyes of admission officers?

重要的是，我们投入的任何一项活动要有真实性和持续性。我们要做的是我们真正喜欢的事，而不是奔着利益去。而且，投入活动要坚持。

What’s important is any activity we are engaged in must be real and long-term. We do what we really like to do not for profit but for pleasure. Moreover, we must persevere in the activity we are engaged in.

个人软实力也包括自信，抗压力，时间管理，等等，楚漫老师启发大家，思考自己的能力和品质，并寻找可以帮助提高这些品质的活动。

Personal soft strength include self-confidence, stress tolerance, time-management ability, and so on. Ms. Chuman inspired students to think about their own abilities and characters and find ways that can help improve those characters.

【十一年级会议室】

校长Chris就如何选择理想的大学，如何在校外标化考试和学校学习之间找到平衡点， 阐述了自己的观点：大学应结合自己的性格特点、所擅长的事务以及自己的学习情况，来选择自己适合的大学。

Principal Chris gave his opinion on how to choose an ideal university and how to balance ourselves between taking standardized tests off campus and doing well at school. He suggested that students choose universities and colleges suitable for them by taking their own individuality, specialty and academic performance into consideration.

你是喜欢大型课堂还是小型课堂;你是喜欢节奏快的学习生活还是节奏慢的……这些都是大学选择中要考虑的东西。了解自己的长处和短处，才能够选择出自己理想的大学。

Do you prefer large-sized classes or small-sized ones;Do you prefer study at a fast pace or slow pace?... These are the factors we must consider when we choose to apply for a university or college.We must be aware of our own strengths and weaknesses before we can figure out our ideal university or college.

其次，由于新冠的影响，世界各地的标化考试都有取消或者延期，但是chris校长告诉我们，这反而是巩固学习知识的好时机，有效的利用多出的这段时间，说不定能够得到更加理想的成绩。

In addition, due to the covid-19 epidemic, standardized tests across the world have been either canceled or delayed, which,however, according to Chris,will serve as a good opportunity for us to review and reinforce what we have learned. We should make effective use of this extra time and try our best to do even better in those standardized tests.

同时在学习过程中，学校的学习和对于标化考试的准备，两者缺一不可，尤其是对11年级的同学们来说。

In the meantime, doing well at school and preparing for standardized tests are equally important, especially for 11 graders.

cas活动的最后chris校长和楚漫老师，积极回答了学生们现阶段的问题，同时鼓励学生们即使在病毒期间也不要停下学习的热情。

有同学的家长也在会议室，会后还有家长要录音课重复听。

At the end of the CAS session, Principal Chris and Miss Chuman responded actively to the questions students had raised for the time being.They also encouraged students to keep up their efforts to do well in their studies even during the outbreak of the epidemic.

职业探索指导，让我们学会“看自己”并“规划自己”;接下来一周P&B以性格测试为手段，找个人“当下点”与“理想点”之间的距离和桥梁;

Through career exploration, we are learning to view ourselves and plan for ourselves. Next week’s P&B sessions will be focused on finding the gap between “where you are now”and “where your goal is” and on how to bridge the gap by means of personality test.

以国际视野去认识变化的世界，预测未来可能的趋势，这是多么有远见又近切的CAS活动啊!

What an instructive CAS session it was!For it helped us understand the changing world in a global vision and predict its possible trend in the future!
