5月10日，上海宏润博源学校礼堂里传来阵阵掌声，定睛看去，原来今年的英语演讲比赛精彩决赛正在上演。本次的演讲主题正是“Passion”。

On May 10th, rounds of applause came from the school auditorium, where the English Speech Contest of this semester was being held. Students focused their speeches on the topic of “Passion” this time.

本次比赛分有初赛和决赛，在经过初赛的激烈竞争后，8位同学脱颖而出，得以站在今日决赛的讲台。

This competition consisted of preliminary round and final round. Having gone through the fierce competition in the preliminary round, 8 students stood out and were selected for the final round.

获奖与否，他们每一位选手都是赢家。诺大的礼堂里，注视的目光从四面八方聚拢而来，他们仍旧可以谈笑风声，不乱方寸地陈述自己的观点和想法。这份勇气与自信就很值得我们为之喝彩。

Whether they won the awards or not, each of them would deserve to be a winner, because if a speaker could humorously state his or her own opinions or ideas when standing alone on the stage in the spotlight, he or she would really deserve to be cheered for his or her courage and confidence.

这次演讲比赛，小编见到了许多新面孔。也见到了一些“素未谋面“的老同学。他们用自己的激情与奔放，知识与学识给我们带来了他们对这次演讲主题“Passion”的理解与期盼。

I saw many new faces during this contest, and also saw many old schoolmates who had never competed in the speech contest before. With their unrestrained passion and knowledge, they showed us how they understood passion and what they expected of it.

首先上台的是预备年级的江欣媛同学，她从“爱”出发，阐释了她对“Passion”的理解。她首先说到我们要热爱生命，因为没有生命就没有任何东西。通过这个演讲她想告诉我们要发现自己爱什么然后去努力的追它。

Alisa Jiang, a pre-high grader, was the first to speak on the stage. She explained how she understood “passion”. First, she said that we should love our own life, because everything depends on it. Through her speech she wanted to tell us to find what we love and then go after it.

郭同学、崔同学、迟同学、高同学，他们四位同学带给我们的都是关于直接与“Passion”有关的演讲。

Yuki Guo, Amanda Cui, Justin Chi, and Paul Gao, the above 4 speakers gave us speeches, which were all directly related to “Passion”.

迟同学通过自己的故事告诉我们，他很喜欢在公众面前讲话，但是他不敢在舞台上演讲，因为会担心自己做不很好。但是这次他勇敢地踏出这一步，上台去演讲。通过自己的故事来说明人们对很多事情都是有激情的，他非常喜欢演讲所以就一直努力。他觉得应该要坚持自己的梦想和兴趣爱好，总有一天会为自己的成功而高兴。

He told us he liked to speak in public, but was afraid to speak on the stage, because he was likely to get nervous and was worried that he couldn’t do well. However, this time he took the brave step and went on stage to speak. By telling his own story, he illustrated that people are passionate about many things just as he likes making speeches very much, so he has been working hard. He thinks he should stick to his dreams and hobbies, and one day he will be happy with his success.

崔同学的演讲告诉我们如何去找到自己的激情。她一开始说到人们现在不是很喜欢工作，因为他们对工作没有任何激情。她通过自己非常喜欢阅读这个特点来告诉我们要如何去寻找对自己有激情的事情。

Amanda talked about how to find what our passion was. She started by saying that some people don't like their work very much now because they don't have any passion for it. By sharing with us her love of reading, she tried to show us how to find what we are passionate about.

高同学是告诉我们什么是激情。他从很多方面展开，后来专注到游戏《我的世界》来试着解释激情为何物。在这款脑力挑战的游戏中，他花了时间精力，也享受了整个过程。最后他再一次的思考之后认为激情就是生命的能量，源自于对生命和生活的热爱。

Paul talked about what passion was. He developed his views in many ways, and later focused on the game called "Mine Craft” so as to explain what passion was. He devoted time efforts to playing this mentally challenging game, and he enjoyed the whole process. Having thought it over, he realized that passion was the energy of life that originated from our love for life.

林同学演讲的是关于踢足球的故事。因为对足球的激情，他在学校里组织了足球队伍，带领和他一样喜欢踢足球的同学们周二社团课一起踢足球。

Jared Lin told us a story of playing football. Because of his love and passion for football, he organized a football club consisting of a team of players and they played regularly at the club session on each Tuesday.

在本次英语演讲比赛过程中，顾同学和俞同学两位同学是众星之中最为闪亮的两颗星。他们演讲中的“passion”让在场的同学老师热血沸腾，不停为他们欢呼喝彩。

Murphy Gu and Ting Yu were considered as two shiniest stars during this contest. The audience present were greatly excited about their speeches on passion and kept cheering loudly for them.

俞同学讲述了自己慢慢爱上舞台的过程。他通过自己一次次在学校舞台上展示自己，来告诉我们这就是他对舞台的一种热情。希望大家都可以克服自己紧张的心情，站在舞台上展示一份热爱。

Ting told us the story of how he fell in love with the stage. By presenting himself many times on the stage, he share with us his passion for the stage. He hopes everyone can overcome their nervousness and show his/her passion on the stage.

顾同学演讲的是关于新冠病毒的。他想告诉我们残酷的现实是存在的，但是我们只有团结起来，才去战胜这行病毒。历史上的一些战争情况亦是如此。只要我们齐心协力，一旦疫情过去，伟大的黎明就会到来，人们可以比以往更加的团结，为我们所有的人带来美好的未来。

Murphy talked about covid-19 pandemic. He told us that sometimes we have to face harsh reality, but only if we are united, can we win the fight against this pandemic. The same is true of some wars in history. As long as we work together, once the epidemic is over, a great dawn will come upon us, and people will be more united than ever to deliver a better future for all of us.

听完他们今天英语演讲比赛之后，觉得热血沸腾，一个好的演讲需要一次次的练习，一次次的修改，最终交上满意的答卷。我们感受到了他们每一位的热情“Passion”。每一个演讲者站在台上展示自己的勇气，激情和才能，都让坐在台下的同学深受感染，想必也在心里默默规划自己下一次的才能展现吧!

Having attended today’s speech contest, I felt very excited. A speaker needs to practise and improve his or her speech over and over again before achieving the satisfactory result. Standing on the stage, each speaker showed their courage, passion and talent, making the audience deeply touched. I assume they must be silently planning their next talent show!

的确如此，作为新一代的我们，对未来充满着无限的希望和斗志。去勇于尝试自己从未有过的挑战，一次次的突破自我，展现出自己这个年纪该有的激情!

Indeed,as a new generation,we are optimistic about our future,and we are filled with morale.We need to try to meet unprecedented challenges, make repeated breakthroughs,and show the passion worthy of our age.
