上海宏润博源学校于2020年2月17日下午以线上的方式进行了本学期次CAS(Creativity创新, Activity活动, Service服务)会议。全校师生在认真完成一天的线上课程后准时进入会议室，开始这次不同寻常的集会，展现了我们的自律性和责任感。会议由学生处副主任苗茜楠老师和学生会主席安哲男同学共同主持。

In the afternoon of February 17, 2020, Shanghai Hongrun Boyuan School held online the first CAS (Creativity innovation, Activity, Service) meeting of this semester. All faculty members and students entered the meeting room on time after finishing all the online courses that day, which showed our self-discipline and sense of responsibility. The meeting was co-chaired by Ms. Helen Miao, Deputy Dean of Students, and Jackie An, President of the student union.

Chris校长在开场致词中，引导同学们结合疫情从哲学高度深刻思考人与人之间的关系，独处时如何处理好自我与外界的关系，我们的过去与当下的，当下与来的，希望同学们可以深刻地认识自己，把握好当下，去创造自己想要的未来。

In his opening remarks, Principal Christopher Moses guided the students to think from a philosophical height about the connections and relationship among people, especially in this epidemic; how to get along with ourselves when we are alone; the connection between our past and the present and that between our present and the future. He encouraged the students to do deeper reflections on who they are, and seize the present and create the future they want.

接着，学生会主席团成员代表学生会干部向全校同学发出了倡议并且进行了工作汇报。学生会主席安哲安代表全体老生欢迎新同学的加入，并对学校积极筹备线上教育和教学的努力表示感谢，也号召同学们在被迫居家的这段时间帮家长做些家务，坚持锻炼身体，认真开始网课学习;学生会副主席蔡晗啸同学和秘书长王卓然同学一起向大家汇报了学生会寒假期间配合校务委员会开展的一系列活动，如组织动员同学们每日健身打卡，开展并完成英语配音比赛初赛，开展英语辩论赛，发起并落实抗“疫”捐款倡议等。

Then, the Executive Board members of the Assocaited Students Board (ASB) shared their words with the room. On behalf of all the “old” students, Jackie An, president of ASB, welcomed the new students, thanked the school for its efforts in preparing online courses and activities, and called upon the students to help their parents do some house chores at home, keep the habit of daily physical exercises, and put serious effort on learning online; Sam Cai, vice president of ASB, and Sunnee Wang, Secretary General, reported to the room the activities that ASB members have carried out with the SHBS Administration Board: design and organization of the Daily Physical Exercises plan, the first round of English Dubbing Competition, English Debate themed the epidemic, and the fundraising proposal for the epidemic control, etc.

之后，陈劲副校长明确了线上课程的学生考勤要求等;学生处苗老师明确了线上课程的纪律要求，并指出长时间被困在家里，同学们容易产生焦躁情绪，若有不良情绪时应该找到合适的途径进行排解，不得在公共虚拟空间散布危害网络安全的负面言论;同学们应该锻炼提升自己分析事物的能力以及自律能力。

After that, vice Principal Jin specified the requirements on students’ attendance and beyond. Ms. Helen Miao stressed the discipline requirements of online courses and pointed out that students are prone to anxiety when they trapped at home for a long time; they should find an appropriate way to vent their negative emotions and shall not make negative comments online that might breach cyber security; students should take this crisis to improve their critical thinking skills and self-descipline.

最后，Bowen校长对天的线上课程质量给予了充分的肯定，希望各位同学在亲临这场巨大灾难过程中要深刻思考，让这次“战役”成为锻炼自己成长的机会，为全民抗疫斗争贡献自己的力量，也对各位老师的辛苦付出，各位同学的认真配合表示了感谢。

In the end, General Principal Bowen Chen recognized the success and high quality of our first-day online courses, and expressed his hope that all of us can make the best out of this national crisis: our students should take this “battle” to exercise and improve themselves, deepen their thinking, and contribute to our nation’s triumph in this battle. Mr. Bowen Chen also expressed gratitude to the dedication of the faculty team and the hard work of the students.

大家下午好，我是安同学，本次CAS活动的主持人也是本届学生会主席。很意外今天我们以这样的方式开始新的学期，在这里我想向大家表达我诚挚的问候：很高兴见到一张张熟悉的面孔，同时请允许我代表全体老生，向新加入我们集体的同学们表示最热烈的欢迎。

Good afternoon everybody, I am Jackie and it’s a great honor to be here to share my thoughts with you guys, and to present my joyful feeling to meet you guys here! It is always good to see your familiar faces, even on the screen. Welcome back! Besides, on behalf of all those familiar faces, I want to welcome the new students who have just joined our family.

没有一个人身处这场疫情之外。在这片没有硝烟的战场上，SHBS全体师生已经站在了一起。

The unexpected outbreak of the coronavirus stopped us from meeting offline; nobody can be excluded from this battle, and at this time, we, as part of the SHBS family, are standing together now。

今天我们能在这里会面，在这里我想感谢校方为线上教学的顺利开展作出的努力，也感谢各位同学能够克服困难完成一天的课业;作为学生会主席，我想感谢学生会成员们开学前夕为同学们的学生活动作出的努力。

It’s a great challenge for the school administration board to provide us with such an opportunity to meet online, and I want to present my sincere gratitude to the school for their great efforts in the online-course preparation, and to all the students who have dedicated themselves to online learning. Lastly, I want to say thank you to my ASB members who devoted their time to designing student activities for us.

线上学习，改变了学习的方式，但大家仍旧要以饱满的热情投入到学习中：即使在线，我们也需要拿出十万分的认真和努力。时间不等人，本次疫情也无形增加了标准化考试的备考压力，期望同学们能全身心地投入学习。

The outbreak of virus has brought us a new way of learning, but it can never stop us from keeping the enthusiasm for learning. Especially for those of junior and senior students, I would like to call upon you to concentrate on your school work and ensure enough amount of practices after class.

第二点就是在学习之余，我们可以帮助我们的家庭，做一些力所能及的家务，另外，此时此刻，我们除了应该做好防护之外，增强自己的体质是也一个保护自己的办法。所以，请不要忘记每天定时定量的运动。

Besides, I hope everybody can do some house chores at home and physical exercise regularity after class. As teenagers, we are responsible for our family duties. And we should also ensure our daily physical exercises. Not only does it help us to maintain a balance between the school work and the entertainments, but also it keeps us away from those diseases.

最后，我倡议每位同学都给自己制定一个时间安排的计划，按时上课，积极运动。相信不久，我们就可以地重逢在我们美丽的校园。加油，伙伴们!

Lastly, I call upon every student to make a clear daily plan. Our dear principle Chris once said: work smarter, not harder. I am pretty confident that we will win this battle soon, and I am looking forward to meeting you guys on our lovely campus soon!
