近日上海宏润博源学校10年级金同学喜获由上海市科学技术协会、上海市教育委员会、上海市科学技术委员会、上海市知识产权局、共青团上海市委员会等15家单位联合主办的“第36届上海市青少年科技创新大赛——青少年科技创新成果竞赛”一等奖。

Recently, Nicole Jin from SHBS has been honorably awarded the first prize in the 36th annual Shanghai Adolecents Science and Technology Innovation Contest - which was jointly organized by the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, Shanghai Municipal E ducation Commission and Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Shanghai Intellectual Property Office, the Communist Youth League Committee of Shanghai and other 15 organizations.

她的研究课题《不做社会局外人——5G时代下的“无G”老人群体调查》受到了专家学者的好评，在最后的决赛答辩中从容自信地表述课题的主旨概要、研究意义等，其选题构思设计、调研方向目的及内容得到评委们的赞扬，也得到了现场评委的指点，最后顺利通过答辩。一等奖是该项竞赛的最高奖，全市有数万中小学生参与角逐，其中“青少年科技创新成果竞赛”板块共有466名学生在各专业学科领域中获得一等奖。

She focused her research on the topic "Don't be social outsiders -- a survey of the‘No G’elderly group in the 5G era”, and experts and scholars thought highly of her research. During the final defense, she took it easy and confidently summarized her research, explained the significance of it and so on, winning judges’ praises and advice for her topic design, research direction, purpose and content. In the end, she successfully passed the defense. The first prize was the top prize of this competition. Tens of thousands of primary and middle school students in the city participated in the competition, among whom 466 students won first prizes in various professional disciplines in the section of "Youth Science and Technology Innovation Achievements Competition".

Nicole Jin has been in SHBS since she was a 9th grader. The school's educational philosophy and teaching environment have played a huge role in helping her grow up, making her become increasingly confident and cheerful, and more engaged in learning, as well as improving her independent thinking. She is all the more longing to make progress by acquiring all kinds of knowledge.

10年级开学后学习的动力尤为强劲，除了安排好学校的课程学习外，还利用一切课外时间广泛涉猎各领域，积极探索和尝试，不给自己设限，如计算机编程、机器人、美术、科学、街舞、长笛、手工、英语书法等，她也从中收获了极大的乐趣和满足，并在兴趣爱好中找到自我，开拓了成长的空间，逐渐树立了人生目标和理想。

Ever since the start of her 10th grade year, she has been highly motivated to learn. In addition to handling her courses at school and without setting limits to herself, she has spent her spare time actively exploring and trying various fields, such as computer programming, robotics, art, science, street dance, flute,origami, English, calligraphy, etc. As a result, she found great pleasure and satisfaction in those extracurricular activities. Besides, she managed to understand herself better by pursuing hobbies, open up the space for growth, and gradually establish her goal of life.

9年级下学期获得“澳大利亚袋鼠数学竞赛二等奖”，10年级上学期获得荷兰博物馆签发的“第六届追逐梵高国际美术大赛“金像奖。下学期开始积极参加一些知名数学竞赛和计算机竞赛，如滑铁卢数学竞赛、USACO等。在刚刚结束的美国“AMC”数学竞赛中成绩达到中国赛区的二等奖。如今还在参加“2021年美国FTC机器人比赛”。

In the second semester of her 9th grade year, she won the second prize in "Australian Kangaroo Mathematics Competition. In the first semester of her 10th grade year, she won the Gold Award issued by the Netherlands Museum in the "6th Chasing Van Gogh International Art Competition". In the second semester, she actively participated in some well-known math competitions and computer competitions, such as Waterloo Mathematics Competition and USACO. She won the second prize in the "AMC" math competition recently concluded in China. Now she is preparing for the "2021 FTC Robotics Competition".

金同学从体制内初中转到国际学校，从小就是个很有想法的孩子，到了高中一切从零开始，很快适应全新的环境，遵从自己的内心，找到自己的兴趣，厚积薄发变得自信满满充满朝气，是宏润博源给了她一个宽松、平等、自由、尊重的可塑性极大的平台，相信她在今后两年的学习生涯中会更上一层楼。

As an insightful girl who transferred from a public junior high school to an international school, she quickly adapted herself to the new environment and started from scratch. She rose up vigorously based on her accumulated strength by pursuing her own dream and hobbies. It is SHBS that has provided her with a tolerant, equal, free, respectful and flexible platform. We believe she will make greater progress in her next two high school years.
