2019年9月1日下午，在上海宏润博源学校的开学典礼上，三位学生代表用流畅的英文作了发言。11年级学生代表王同学对新同学和新老师表示欢迎，并表达了新学期要持续努力的信念。新生代表蔡同学表达了体验营期间学校给予了不一样的体验，表达了对学校优质资源的赞叹和感谢，并表达了要为学校带来更新气象的决心。12年级学生代表孙同学对学弟学妹们说时光飞逝，在上海宏润博源学校的时光里她更深刻地认识了自己，成长许多，但也有一些遗憾。她感叹说自己本可以更勇敢，更积极地参与课堂，更多地使用英文与同学和老师交谈，成长更快。希望学弟学妹们不要留下遗憾。

Approximately two years ago, a group of brave pioneers brought forth on this magnificent land, an unprecedented school, conceived in honor, dignity and dedicated in the proposition of respect and integrity. Some geniuses in this group of pioneers, named the school SHBS to make sure that it’s short enough to remember. But I can’t forget this name after the first blink of an eye on it since I was astonished by the creative design of the campus and the effective administration. I was also motivated by the rich content of the curriculum system and various activities. But most importantly, I was terrified by how Wawa behaved to Chris. I thought we would have nothing when I heard that this is only a school of two years old, but now we do have so many things.

大约两年以前，一群勇敢的先驱为这片瑰丽的土地带来了一所伟大的学校，他们以荣耀、尊严为信条，以尊重、正直为守则。在这群人中，有一些天才，把这所学校命名为宏润博源，这个名字短到让人记住。但是我，从眼看到这个名字以后，我就再也难以忘怀。我被校园的创意设计与高效的现代化管理所惊艳，我被多元的课程体系与丰富的活动激励。但(最重要的是，我被WaWa对Chris校长的行径吓到了。)当我得知这个学校只有两岁的时候，我以为我们什么也没有。但是没想到，我们已经有了那么多的东西。

We, all the fresh hands from grade nine and ten, come from different place. Some are Shanghai locals, some are from the southern provinces such as Zhejiang, some come as far as Xiamen, which requires an airplane for commuting. However, none of these matters, though facing minute differences, we hold the same cultural background and the willingness to pursue the identity of international citizen.

我们，来自九年级和十年级的新生，来自不同的地方。有些人是上海本地人，有些来自像浙江这样的南方省市，有些甚至远从厦门而来，上下学需要一架飞机。然而这些都不重要，尽管我们之间有细微的差异，我们依旧拥有相同的文化背景，并且我们都向往着成为一名世界公民。

We are here for different reasons. Some can’t stand the heavy load of the public school system. Some engaged in international education system since they were kids and want to continue. Some, like me, even though having already achieved so much in the public school system, still want to have a larger platform to spend our best age.

我们来这里的理由也是不同的。有些人承受不了体制内学习的课业压力，所以来到了这里。有些人从很小的时候开始就进入了国际化教育体系并想要继续。有些人像我一样，即使在体制内已经取得了很大的成就，却依旧想要得到一个更广阔的舞台来燃烧我们青春。

Again, we together with this school have one thing in common, that is what we call potential. If one more adjective, infinite potential. There’s even no doubt that the future of this young school is all on us. We can call ourselves the founding fathers of SHBS if needed, if we really did what a father should do. Plus, we can also call ourselves the step-fathers of SHBS if we didn’t make any contributions but the opposite. This is an honor, privilege, opportunity but at the meantime, challenge.

同样的，我们与这个学校共有着另外一个特质，“潜能”。如果还要多加一个形容词，那么则是：无限的潜能。如果有必要将的话，我们甚至可以把我们自称为宏润博源的”校父”们。当然我们也可以把我们自己称为宏润博源的“后校父”们，如果我们没有做出任何的贡献，并反其道而行之。这是一种荣幸、特权、机会，但同时，也是一种挑战。

My goal in the following 4 years is described as the following: One day when I introduce SHBS to someone, I don’t have to explain that this is an international school located in Zhujiajiao. I want to introduce with honor, pleasure that this is the most reputable international school with the best teachers and young scholars ever. I resolve to achieve this. I call on you all the ninth and tenth graders, to join this great cause.

在接下来的四年里我的目标可以这样来形容：当有一天我向别人介绍宏润博源的时候，我不希望说“这是一个在朱家角的不知名的国际学校。”我希望我可以带着自豪与光荣说：“这是一所至今最有名望的，汇聚各方教师、学生的学校。”我决心于此。我号召诸位，九年级与十年级的新生们，加入这个伟大的事业!

Dear teachers, parents, and fellow schoolmates:

Good afternoon，

Welcome to attend the 2019 Opening Ceremony of SHBS. It is my great pleasure to speak on behalf of the 11th graders at this opening ceremony.

In the new semester, I saw many fresh faces: new teachers and new classmates. Welcome all of you to SHBS and join us in this growing family. The addition of each new member represents a unique personality integration. I believe that in the future, everyone can gradually understand one other, become friends, and constantly inspire each other to generate novel ideas to enrich our campus life. In addition, I suppose that many students who become the 11th graders like me have accelerated their pace of preparation for further studies. Therefore, in this new semester, we must continue working hard to learn new knowledge to unceasingly enrich ourselves and strive to achieve new self-breakthroughs in our studies. Moreover, for the new students, you are also supposed to keep your enthusiasm for learning new things and try to work harder in high school.

Finally, I hope that all students can achieve good academic results in the new semester and become our better selves. I also hope that all teachers and parents can work with a happy mood.

Hello everyone.

First of all, it's a pleasure to welcome new friends to our big family.

This is the last year of my high school career. In the past year, I have made great progress in my studies and gained firm friendship. More importantly, I know what kind of person I am, what kind of person I wanna to be, and what kind of efforts I need make to become such a person.

These achievements can not be achieved without the help of all my teachers. I am lucky to meet them who support me and encourage me.

But besides those achievements, of course, I also have some regrets, like I wish I had participated more in classes last year, so I can actually get feedbacks for the questions I was to too shy to ask, and when I talk to people in English, I can be more confident.

So what I sincerely hope is that you can do better than I did. Don’t be afraid anytime if you get confused, I’m sure everyone in the community is here for you. And never forget there’re also your parents who love you and your friends who care about you on your back.

Whichever grade you are in, you are in the most precious period of your life. As someone who has come before you , I hope you cherish every minute and second of your life now. Entering a brand new phase of your life, certainly you will meet new challenges, even setbacks, like to face some failures on your studies, some conflicts between besties, or some more severe issues. But please don't shrink back, and don’t give up, these moments will become one of your most precious memories in the future.

Finally, I hope that in the coming year, we as seniors will receive the ideal offer as we wish. And for those of you just start your journey as a high school student, I wish you have a great year, to learn, to grow and to have fun.
