2019年7月16日上午，上海宏润博源学校Bowen总校长和刘刘副总校长带领行政一班人员在行政楼接待了来自夏威夷Le Jardin Academy总校长Kim先生，及普林斯顿高中演讲辩论队总教练谢兰女士。

On the morning of July 16, General Principal Bowen and Vice General Principal Liu Liu, together with some school admin members, received Mr. Kim, President of Le Jardin Academy in Hawaii, and Ms. Cecelia Xie, head coach of the speech and debate team of Princeton high school.

Earl Kim先生是美国一位具有30 余年经历的教育家。 Le Jardin Academy总校长。他曾是美海军陆战队中尉。Kim 先生获得过无数的名誉称号和奖状，包括新泽西州校长、科学教育工作者奖、高中科学奖, 以及新洲 Dodge 基金会最高荣誉。Kim先生认为21世纪的学校一定要有环球性，为此他对中国双语学校和国际学校抱有充分的信心。

Mr. Earl Kim is a recognized leader in education in the United States. He received the Dodge Teaching Fellowship to begin his career in education, pioneered the New Jersey (NJ) Alternate Route teacher, principal and superintendent programs, co-founded the Foundation Academies—one of the NJ’s most successful charter schools, co-founded one of the nation’s first communities of practice for superintendents, and received numerous awards including NJ Best Practices, NJ STAR Schools, NJ School Board Leadership, national Blue Ribbon and NJ Principal of the Year. He believes that in this 21st century schools should have global mindset.

谢兰女士是美国新泽西州蒙哥马利市历史上位亚裔市议员、位亚裔女市长。现为普林斯顿高中演讲辩论队总教练、普林斯顿高中女子排球队副教练、新洲演讲辩论联盟执行董事、新洲环保基金会董事。她生于北京,外祖父周培源是中国著名物理学家和教育家。普林斯顿高中全美高中排名中位列前 14(2017 年排名)。

亲切交谈

Ms. Xie is the first Asian-American city councilwoman and the first Asian-American woman mayor in the history of Montgomery, New Jersey. Currently, she is the head coach of the Princeton high school speech and debate team, assistant coach of the school’s girls’ volleyball team, executive director of the New Jersey’s Speech and Debate Association, and director of New Jersey’s Environmental Foundation. Born in Beijing, her grandfather Zhou Peiyuan was a famous Chinese physicist and educator. Princeton high school was ranked as the 14th place among American high schools (2017).

Kim先生和谢兰女士与Bowen校长在办学理念上谈锋甚健。Kim先生对我校与GIA的合作模式感兴趣，提出一些问题之后又介绍了IB课程设置在Le Jardin Academy的开设效果、课程适应群等。

Mr. Kim and Ms. Xie shared the same educational philosophy with General Principal Bowen. Mr. Kim was interested in the cooperation mode between our school and GIA. After asking some questions, he introduced the IB course in Le Jardin Academy.

谢兰女士提到在她任奥林匹克辩论赛教练期间获得大奖，Bowen校长接话：“我也是, 不过是物理”，会议室发出了笑声，交流过程特别轻松。

Ms. Xie mentioned that her students won a grand prize when she was the Olympic debate coach. President Bowen replied, "so am I, but I was teaching physics.” We had a very joyful and fruitful conversation.

下午，Jin和汪两位副校长陪同两位友人走向朱家角古镇。两位朋友对古镇上琳琅的乡土产品颇感兴趣地欣赏着，对西井街文化特征浓郁的小园赞叹不已，由此又交流了国学课程的教学内容。

In the afternoon, Vice Principal Jin and Wang accompanied Mr. Kim and Ms. Xie to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town. With great interest, they appreciated the local products and admired the small garden.

环境对教育文化的影响和学校教育对社区的贡献由此形成一则话题。

From there, we began to talk about the influences of environment on educational culture and the contribution of school education to its community.
