上海宏润博源学校期末考试临近，2019年1月7日CAS时间在学校礼堂，陈劲校长向全体学生讲解了期末考试安排，重申了考场纪律和注意事项。Steven Bonta就文理科如何备考给同学们了指导建议，并分享了一些考试小贴士。

This is based on many years of experience helping college students to prepare for exams.

这是基于我多年来帮助大学生准备考试所得来的经验。

1.The first thing is start now.Some students in America put off studying until the last possible moment. Stay up all night on the night before the exam or the major assignment was due try to learn everything in that brief span of time. It usually assists by many cups of coffee and possibly other classmates or roommates who were also “pulling an all-nighter. It is not a good thing to do. It is not a smart way of studying. Do not procrastinate. Set aside time over the next two weeks to methodically review material from the whole semester. Four months of material is too much to study in a single night right before the exam.

首先，从现在就开始复习。有些美国学生喜欢把复习推迟到考前的最后一刻。在考试或主要作业的前一天晚上熬夜，试着在这短暂的时间里学习所有的东西。这种考前熬夜学习通常需要很多杯咖啡以及其他同学或室友一起熬夜的环境才能支撑下去。这并不是一件好事。这不是一种聪明的学习方式。不要拖延，留出时间在接下来的两周有条不紊地复习这一学期的所有内容。四个月的材料太多了，在考试前的一个晚上是学不完的。

2.You need to prioritize your hardest classes. You need to be honest with yourself, and know which classes that are the ones that you have the most difficulties in. Be sure to set aside extra time for classes which are most difficult for you.

你需要优先考虑最难的课程。你需要对自己诚实，知道哪些课是你最不擅长的。一定要为那些对你来说最困难的课程留出额外的时间。

3.Study with others. Many heads are always better than one. Find study friends to discuss questions and quiz one another should be the good way to review. Talking about things with other people makes learning easier.

和同学一起学。三个臭皮匠，顶个诸葛亮。找学习伙伴讨论问题，互相测验应该是复习的好方法。与人交谈使学习变得更容易。

4.I am a big fan of flashcards. Flashcards are very useful for things that must be memorized, like vocabulary and formulas. Any subjects that involves a lot of route memorization, for example, language like the vocabulary. It is not easy to build your vocabulary in English，so the only way is just to memorize it.

我很喜欢用认抽卡。对任何涉及大量记忆的科目，抽认卡对于必须记忆的东西都非常有用，比如词汇和公式。

5.Get enough sleep. Going to sleep at a proper time and getting up at the proper time. Use the study halls effectively.

足够的睡眠。在适当的时间睡觉，在适当的时间起床。有效利用自习的时间。

6.Take breaks. The human body and human mind are designed to require break. You can play the video games for a little while instead of working all the time. Stop working and do something fun and relaxing from time to time.

要注意休息。人的身体和心灵都需要休息。你可以玩一会儿电子游戏，而不是一直学。适当放松，做些有趣的事情。

7.If you have questions, ask your teacher. Teachers love it when students ask questions. Don’t be shy. Don’t be afraid to raise your hand or consult with your teacher after class or during the study hall. Teacher don’t know where you didn’t understand if you don’t ask. The final will be cumulative, so don’t neglect to back to the beginning of the semester to review the stuff you learned.

如果有问题，要问老师。老师喜欢学生提问。不要觉得害羞。可以在课后或在课堂上举手提问。如果你不问，老师不知道你不懂的地方在哪里。期末考试是整个学习知识的测试，所以不要忘了复习学期刚开始学过的东西。

8.Make your own study guide. Go through your notes, homework, quizzes and so on. Adding as much as you can to the study guide your teacher gives you.

制定自己的学习指南。复习你的笔记、作业、小测验等等。尽可能多地在老师给你的学习指导中添加内容。

9.Speak English as much as possible. Use as much as English over next two weeks, so people are in a frame of mind in English. When you get the test, when everything in English, it won’t be a shock to your system.

尽可能多地说英语。在接下来的两周内尽可能多地使用英语，这样人们就会有一种英语思维模式。当你考试的时候，当一切都是英语的时候，这不会对你的大脑造成冲击。

Here are tips for the test taking:

Always check your work

Always be sure of the instructions and what the question is asking

Always keep track of the time

Never leave any question unanswered. If you don’t know the answer, you just need to guess, maybe you will have the chance to get part of the grade or get it right. Never leave blanks on a test.
