2019年3月4日下午，在朱家角古镇旁的大淀湖畔，伴随着盈盈水光，一场为欢迎新生到来而举行的“迎新会”在上海宏润博源学校的礼堂徐徐开启。

In the afternoon of March 4th, beside the glistening water of Dadianhu as well as the quaintness of ancient town Zhujiajiao, an assembly to welcome the new students unfolded in the auditorium of Shanghai Hongrun Boyuan School.

这是我们学校的一个传统——在迎新会上，新同学们通过各种形式的节目表演，尽情展示自我才华，让老同学们更多知道和了解自己;同时老同学们也拿出节目来，欢迎新同学的到来。在这个传统下，新老同学更加迅速地打破坚冰，融为一体。

It is one of our school traditions. In this assembly, new students demonstrate their talents through various shows so that the students preceding them (the “old” students) can know better about them, while the old students present shows to welcome the new. Thanks to this tradition, our new students can soon blend in with our old students.

上海宏润博源学校迎新会

活动由老同学王一凡和新同学汤诺主持，这一开始，就是新老同学的通力合作，同时也是代表了新老同学的主持功底的大PK!

This assembly was presided over by Evan Wang and Alice Tang, a sweet and lively girl who has just joined in this spring semester. Thus, from the very beginning, there was cooperation between the old and new. Meanwhile, it was also a competition of their hosting competence.

大家眼中的“学神”钟晨阳同学代表新生发言。他流畅地道的英文表达着实让同学们佩服。

Harry Zhong, academic superman in many students’ eyes, spoke on behalf of the new students. His idiomatic and fluent English speech harvested lots of admiration from other students.

外方校长Chris Moses对新生的到来报以最诚挚的欢迎，并期望所有同学在新的旅程中，要充分利用学校的丰富资源，不断成长，在奋斗的快乐中成就智慧。

Foreign Principal Chris Moses welcomed the new students and expressed his expectations for all students: in this new journey, all students shall take advantage of the abundant resources in our school to explore, to grow and to find themselves.

节目表演完毕，杨洲迪老师和Mr. Dalley代表老师发言。他们告诉新同学们，所有的老师都非常愿意给同学们提供各种帮助。有了困难，就一定要找老师;并且解释了什么样的困难，应该去找哪位老师。

Next, Mr. Michael Yang and Mr. Dalley spoke on behalf of the teachers, emphasizing that all teachers are willing to help them and that if they come across any difficulty, they should approach teachers for help. They also explained to the new students which teacher to approach in different situations.

迎新会

或许同学们在面对众人的时候还会胆怯，或许有的同学表演还显稚嫩生涩。但表演其实只是个触媒，意义在于他们都勇敢地站上了舞台，面对他们以前可能从未面对过的场景，完成了一次自我的突破。 这就是迎新会的终极含义：一个开始——接下来在宏润博源学校的学习与成长过程中，不断地向内战胜自我向外打开自我的开始。 今后，还有大量的机会，还有各种各样的舞台，在上海宏润博源学校，向所有的孩子敞开!

Maybe some of the new students were still a little nervous or shy on the stage, but the point is that they had the courage to get on stage to show themselves, which is already a breakthrough. This assembly of celebrating the “new” is ultimately to celebrate the start of a new journey, on which our students shall continue challenging themselves to learn and grow. There are lots of opportunities and resources here at Hongrun Boyuan School and all of them are open to our students.
