2019年2月17日星期天，早晨8点起，上海宏润博源学校人影攒动。新老生员报道、领书，老师们在各岗位上迎接自家学生到来。开学前常见的忙碌中，有一份喜滋滋的等待和期盼。

From 8 a.m. on February 17, Sunday, the campus wasswarming with people. New and old students who reported back to school werebusy collecting their new coursebooks, while teachers kept to their own posts,waiting for their students to be back. Busy as they usually were especiallywhen school starts, everyone was joyfully looking forward to the new semester.

下午3点，礼堂里座无虚席。开学典礼，王伟老师中文主持， 苗茜楠老师英文翻译。

At 3 p.m. , the auditorium was packed to capacity.The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. TonyWang in Chinese, and Miss Miao acted as the interpreter.

Chris校长开场的声音传到礼堂各角落：机场出来可以看到世界各国的人汇聚到一起，他们各自说着自己国家的语言，持着各自的文化，互不相沟通;国际学校的学生就是要完成这样的使命;你们要拥抱世界的历史和文化，与世界历史和文化沟通!Chris校长的话，彷佛在用他的手臂和胸膛，暖暖地将宏润博源的学子托起，在阳光下照耀。

Chris, our foreign principal, delivered a resounding opening speech. He said “Stepping out of an airport, one can see people fromall over the world gathering there, speaking their own languages, representing their own cultures without communicating with each other. That is considered tobe a mission left to be completed by students from international schools justlike you. It is you who are expected to embrace and talk to the world history and cultures.” Let’s hope that student of SHBS will live up to our foreign principal’s keen anticipations.

安哲男、孙晓乐同学代表学生发言，安同学在新生面前，俨然是个小哥哥，从家乡的梅花说起:“终将有一天我们这些学⼦也会如这梅花般的盛开，令世人瞩目。” 晓乐同学却一改话风，号称“老生”一枚，“谆谆教导”学弟学妹们哪门课什么时候开始入手好，自己为什么那么“拼”，她俏皮地说着一本正经的话，引来大家的会心大笑。

Representing all the students, Jacky An and Giant Sun made their speeches. Jacky believed that some day in the future students of SHBS would thrive remarkably just like the blooming plum blossoms in his hometown. Giant Sun, already a senior student now, gave serious advice to her younger schoolmates on their studies and college application in an amusing way. Besides, she also shared her valuable experience with all students present.

高个子Steve代表教师发言，充满感情：来到中国改变了对中国的看法，他和女儿在这么好的学校环境里生活和工作，感到很愉快，以切身体会呼唤大家，宏润博源师生要珍惜今天的成绩走向更好。

The tall guy, Mr. Steven Bonta, spoke passionately onbehalf of all the faculty members. He said that his opinions on China changed after he came to this country and worked here in SHBS for a semester. He’sfeeling very pleased that he and his daughter have been blessed with the opportunity to work and study in such a beautiful and excellent school.Finally, based on his personal experience, he called on all of us to cherish what we have already achieved so far and try our best to do better.

Next came the time to present awards. Award for students who always behave properly and stick to the code of conduct.

此时，王伟老师来了个启发式引导：大家猜，接下来会是哪门奖项——

“你用目标和信心挑战学业的高度，你用毅力与拼搏追寻人生的梦想。今天的收获是你昨日不惜付出的回报，高远的目标和不断的超越将使你的明天更加辉煌!”这个奖项就是——“GPA全A”学生奖

Award for students who have achieved straight A’s on their GPA over the past semester.

当“全A奖”几个字出现的时候，场上立刻像一阵风吹过座席，还有羡慕的声音;获奖班级上场之后拍照留念。

最后是“卓越集体——班级奖、竞争力集体奖”

Awards for the most extraordinary and competitive classes.

颁奖环节

获奖个人与集体上台颁奖，我们看到暖色聚光灯照在学子们身上，那张张个性独特、才华崭露的脸上，有了自信和荣耀。

While those winners including both individuals and classes were on the stage to receive their awards, their unique and talented faces lit up with confidence and honor in the soft glow provided by the spot light.

至此，典礼接近尾声了，Bowen校长又给我们一个记忆深刻的总结发言，一位在同学们笑声中坚持提“幼稚的问题”的学生，他的坚持最终让自己进入美国哈佛大学，典礼结束，学子们陷入思考和回味。

As the school opening ceremony was drawing to a close, Principal Bowen once again gave us an impressive concluding speech. He told usa story about one of his former students who persisted in asking childish questions despite the fact that he was laughed at by others, finally sending him to Harvard University. Bowen’s speech made students think over and reflecton themselves after the ceremony came to an end.

今天，与会师生和家长代表感受到的不仅仅是一个惯常的开学仪式，更有着老师、家长满满的祝福。学子们，新学期，新的一段路程开始了。我们一起出发!

Today, not only did those who attended the ceremony experience it, but they also were blessed with best wishes from teachers and parents.Fellow students, we are setting sail for a new voyage aboard SHBS now. Let’s get ready.
