2019年4月4日，希腊前总理乔治·安德烈·帕潘德里欧阁下亲临上海宏润博源学校，为上海宏润博源学校师生、家长及社区带来了一场题为“青少年领导力培养与人生规划制定”的精彩演讲。

On April 4, 2019, Sir George Andre Papandreou, former Prime Minister of Greece, visited Shanghai Hongrun Boyuan School and delivered a wonderful speech entitled "Youth Leadership Development and Life Planning" for teachers, students, parents and the community at large.

希腊前总理亲临上海宏润博源学校讲授领导力培养

乔治阁下出身于诗礼簪缨的政治世家，祖父和父亲曾数度担任希腊总理，其本人凭借丰富的学习经历，丰厚的法律、教育、外交、宗教等领域的从政阅历，以及包纳寰宇、悲天悯人的领导气魄与风范，于2009年成功出任希腊总理。

Sir George Papandreou was born into a political dynasty. His grandfather and father served as Prime Minister of Greece for several times. With rich learning experiences; ample political experience in law, education, diplomacy, religion and other fields; and outstanding leadership, demeanor, and compassion; he was elected as prime minister of Greece in 2009.

演讲开篇乔治总理就表达了对教育目的不同维度的理解，颠覆仅以成绩或名校作为标准的单向度评价手段，并用自己应对债务危机的理政经历勉励学生要发掘兴趣所在，持续学习，敢于迎接挑战，领导力就是在困境中磨砺出的忍耐力和创造力。

At the start of the speech, Sir George Papandreou expressed his understanding of the purpose of education, subverting the onefold evaluation method that only takes the score or the prestigiousness of the school as the standard. Taking his political experience in handling the debt crisis of Greece for example, he encouraged students to explore their true interests, keep learning, and welcome challenges, for leadership is the tenacity and creativity forged by adversities.

精彩演讲

乔治总理通过引用中方注资比雷埃夫斯港，希方协助中国渡送利比亚危机中的中国侨民，以及希腊向受地震之害的土耳其伸出援手的案例告诉同学们：“展现领导力就要努力使众人协行，要发挥团队的力量，而非单打独斗，用爱和信任去鼓舞可以团结的力量，而非强力胁迫或权威滥用”。

He also talked about China's investment in the Piraeus port to help boost Greece’s economy during its debt crisis, Greece's help with evacuation of Chinese nationals in the crisis of Libya, and Greece’s offering help to earthquake-stricken Turkey, which was antagonistic to Greece at that time, so that students understood: “Leadership means having the power to unite people with love and trust to achieve greater good with all possible forces together, rather than forcing people to follow your order with your authority.”

青少年领导力培养与人生规划制定

同时，乔治总理认为，中国已经是稳定世界格局、促进世界共荣的重要力量，中国青少年要在坚持民族自信和文化自信的基础上扩大国际视野，提高跨文化沟通能力，擅长与不同文化的背景的人交流合作，成为促进国际理解和解决文明冲突的文化使者，要着眼于世界的和平与发展，致力于全人类的福祉，努力成长为世界领袖。

At the same time, Sir George Papandreou thinks that China plays an important role in maintaining world peace and promoting world prosperity. On the base of maintaining confidence in their mother nation and culture, Chinese teenagers need to further expand their international vision and improve their cross-cultural communication abilities so that they are good at communicating with people from different cultural backgrounds and become cultural ambassadors that help promote international understanding and resolve conflicts among civilizations. They should focus on the peace and development of the world, work for the well-being of all mankind, and strive to grow into world leaders.

在自由交流环节，宏润师生就希腊美景、欧洲教育、一带一路、地缘政治、蝴蝶效应、应对危机举措、继承传统与个性释放如何平衡等问题向乔治总理礼貌而谦逊地提问，乔治总理都严谨而周延、平易而亲和地做了回复，观点高屋建瓴，建议掷地有声，语言风格、格局风范久久难忘。

In Q&A session, the audience posed questions on Greek scenic spots, European education, influence of the Belt and Road Initiative, geopolitics, the butterfly effect, how to respond to crisis, and how to keep balance family tradition and individuality and so on. Sir George Papandreou answered each question thoughtfully, patiently, and humbly from a strategically high standing point, impressing the audience deeply with his insightful proposals, broad vision, language style and gentle presence.

The speech, which lasted for just two hours, covered many profound topics. It was a great honor for Hongrun teachers and students to have such a close contact with a real world leader and to listen to his suggestions and insights on governing a country. Great thanks also go to Project Agora for inviting Sir George Papandreou to give such a high level lecture on youth leadership and life planning for all of us. We believe that this speech will inspire more students to make life planning and forge their leadership with a much bigger picture in mind, inspiring the students of Shanghai Hongrun Boyuan School to become world elites that love their mother nation and culture and strive for the development of all human kind.
